Junior Designer

About the role

Varley is seeking a focused and passionate Junior Designer to join its Chesterfield studio. You will support the design team in creating contemporary women’s apparel, ensuring every detail aligns with the brand’s aesthetic and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior designers in developing apparel collections across multiple categories.
• Maintain collection overviews, performance reviews and sourcing packs.
• Create presentations for internal stakeholders and sales teams.
• Prepare design packs and handover materials for the Development Team.
• Collaborate with development and production teams to streamline product creation.
• Help manage the global calendar and meet deadlines.
• Support junior team members with organisational and administrative tasks.

Required profile

• Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in womenswear design.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions while contributing creative ideas.
• Highly organised with the capacity to manage several projects simultaneously.
• Team‑player mindset with good communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fit and fabric.
• Familiarity with 3D design tools such as Style 3D (advantageous).
• Competence in creating presentations using Keynote and PowerPoint.
