Junior Fabric Technologist

About the role

The Junior Fabric Technologist will support fabric selection, testing and approval for new product lines within a retail environment. This permanent position works closely with design and production teams to ensure fabrics meet quality, compliance and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the selection, testing and approval of fabrics for new product lines.
• Ensure all fabrics meet quality and compliance standards before production.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to provide fabric recommendations.
• Maintain accurate records of fabric specifications and certifications.
• Support the resolution of fabric‑related issues throughout the production process.
• Communicate with suppliers to source and evaluate new materials.
• Contribute to sustainable fabric sourcing initiatives.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovations in fabric technology.

Required profile

• A degree or equivalent qualification in textiles, fashion or a related field.
• Knowledge of fabric properties and testing methods.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication with internal teams and suppliers.
• Interest in sustainability within the retail industry.
