Junior Field Service Engineer

About the role

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term position for a newly qualified Level 3 electrician or electrical technician. You will receive intensive training to become a specialist field‑based engineer supporting critical rail infrastructure and HVAC projects across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with installation and commissioning of electrical and HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults on site.
• Support planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and PLC logic.
• Travel to customer sites throughout the United Kingdom.

Required profile

• Newly qualified with a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in electrical engineering.
• Proven experience in electrical fault‑finding.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to pass medical, drug & alcohol screening.
• Residency within a 30‑minute radius of Calne.
• Motivation to develop specialist engineering skills.

• 3‑phase electrical systems.
• DC control units.
• Basic understanding of PLC systems.
• Reading and interpreting electrical engineering drawings.
• Electrical fault‑finding techniques.
• HVAC system fundamentals.
