About the role
The Junior IT Support Desk Advisor will join the IT & Estates team at the Royal Agricultural University, providing first‑line assistance to staff, students and visitors. Working on‑site in Cirencester, you will help keep the university’s digital environment running smoothly while developing your technical expertise.
Key responsibilities
- Provide first‑line IT support and triage for hardware, software and system issues.
- Resolve routine problems directly and escalate complex cases to senior team members.
- Maintain and update campus computers, peripherals and related software.
- Record incidents accurately in the ticketing system and communicate status to users.
- Stay informed about new technologies and university IT requirements.
Required profile
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to gather, document and convey technical issues clearly.
- Comfort following detailed technical instructions.
- A strong interest in computers and IT, even without formal qualifications.
