Junior IT Support Technician

About the role

The Junior IT Support Technician will join the IT team at The Children’s Trust, providing first‑line helpdesk assistance and supporting small IT projects. Working under the IT Support Lead and Senior Technician, this entry‑level position is ideal for someone eager to start a career in IT within a values‑driven charitable organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to staff and volunteers via phone, email and Microsoft Teams.
• Log, update and escalate tickets in the helpdesk platform, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Create, manage and decommission Microsoft Teams, Exchange mailboxes, distribution lists and Microsoft 365 groups.
• Set up, configure and retire IT equipment including Windows PCs, Android devices, macOS and iOS devices.
• Assist with installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of projectors, audio‑visual systems and interactive whiteboards.
• Maintain accurate documentation, handle confidential information and update knowledge‑base articles.
• Deliver basic IT training to staff and volunteers.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, eager to learn and develop an IT career.
• Ability to work under guidance and follow established processes.
