About the role
DXC Technology is looking for a Junior Linux System Administrator to join its platinum account team. You will work across multiple teams, providing first‑ and second‑level support while helping to improve processes and maintain system reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Provide first and second level technical support for incidents and problems.
- Monitor overall system performance and ensure smooth functionality.
- Create, maintain and utilise documentation.
- Assist in building compliance with processes and policies.
- Implement standards, policies and procedures for continual service improvement.
Required profile
- Excellent organisation and time‑management skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
- Proactive attitude toward identifying risks and root‑cause analysis.
- Willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
Required skills
- Proficiency with UNIX/Linux systems (Red Hat, Debian, Solaris, AIX).
- Shell scripting (Bash, KornShell).
- Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef.
- Process and job control (cron, at, systemd timers).
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, FTP).
- Filesystem management (LVM, ext4, XFS, ZFS).
- Performance tuning and monitoring (top, vmstat, iostat, sar, netstat).
- Scripting with Bash, Python and Git.
- Experience with AWS.
- Virtualisation and container technologies (KVM, VMware, Docker, Podman).
