Junior Mechanical Fitter (Motors / Gearboxes)

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Fitter with hands‑on experience on motors and gearboxes to join a multinational engineering business. The role involves testing, assembling and fault‑finding on industrial gearboxes and motors, with full on‑the‑job training and development programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Test and assemble industrial gearboxes and motors.
• Diagnose faults, strip down equipment and carry out repairs.
• Perform routine service jobs on mechanical equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to improve processes.

Required profile

• Junior fitter or engineer with experience on motors, gearboxes or similar equipment.
• Practical experience working on vehicles is advantageous.
• Valid UK driver’s licence.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 8am‑5pm on site.

Required skills

• Gearbox assembly and testing.
• Motor testing and commissioning.
• Fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Mechanical fitting and stripping down of equipment.
