About the role
We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Birmingham. You will play a key role in maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime and supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out reactive and preventative maintenance on a daily basis.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to determine corrective actions.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team.
Required profile
- Recognised mechanical apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
- Previous experience in preventative maintenance activities.
- Experience in a medium to heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
