Junior Purchase Ledger Clerk (Finance)

About the role

As a Junior Purchase Ledger Clerk you will support the finance team by processing supplier invoices, ensuring accurate payments and maintaining the purchase ledger. This role is essential for keeping the organisation’s cash flow on track and building strong relationships with vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
• Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare payment runs to ensure vendors are paid on time.
• Maintain up‑to‑date ledger records.
• Reconcile supplier statements and address issues quickly.
• Provide ledger information for month‑end closing.
• Respond to supplier queries and foster effective communication.
• Assist with ad‑hoc accounting and finance tasks.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a purchase ledger or similar accounting role.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical work approach.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
