Junior Purchasing Agent

About the role

As a Junior Purchasing Agent at Aecon, you will support the procurement of goods and services for complex infrastructure projects, ensuring cost‑effective and timely delivery while upholding the company’s safety‑first culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior buyers in sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and preparing purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and track order status.
• Support contract negotiations and ensure compliance with Aecon’s policies.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand material requirements and delivery schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and flag potential shortages.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or 0‑2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to safety, integrity and accountability.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Basic understanding of procurement processes and terminology.
