Junior Sister / Charge Nurse – Cancer Day Unit

About the role

This is a secondment position (Band 6) for a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse on the Cancer Treatment Day Unit at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth. The role runs until 02/11/2026 and is open only to current Hywel Dda University Health Board staff. You will support the Sister, deputise when required, and help ensure high‑quality care for patients receiving systemic anti‑cancer therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Sister and act as Charge Nurse when needed.
• Deliver day‑case anti‑cancer treatments, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
• Administer systemic anti‑cancer therapy safely and accurately.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
• Assist with unit leadership, staffing coordination and quality improvement.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in oncology and haematology.
• Demonstrable management or leadership experience.
• Ability to work autonomously and adapt to a fast‑paced environment.
• Welsh language ability is desirable but not essential.
• Current employee of Hywel Dda University Health Board with manager approval for secondment.
