Junior Software Developer – Digital Auction Platform

About the role

Wilsons Auctions is looking for a Junior Software Developer to join the team that builds and maintains Gavel, its enterprise‑grade auction platform. You will work on a modern TypeScript stack, supporting both internal tools and the public‑facing website, while gaining experience in cloud‑native development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and fix features across the Gavel monorepo, including the Node.js/NestJS backend API, React admin portal and Next.js public website.
• Maintain and evolve the backend services using NestJS, TypeORM and Aurora MySQL Serverless, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Write clean, maintainable TypeScript code following coding standards and review processes.
• Contribute to front‑end work with React and Next.js, improving usability, accessibility and performance.
• Support testing activities – unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests – and help investigate reported defects.
• Assist with third‑party integrations, implementing, testing and documenting API connections and webhooks.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge‑transfer sessions with senior engineers and external suppliers.
