Junior Software Developer (Exeter)

About the role

First Databank is seeking a motivated Junior Software Developer to join its Exeter team. You will work within an Agile environment, contributing to innovative healthcare solutions that improve patient safety and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Write production‑grade code under the guidance of senior developers.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established development processes.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, subject‑matter experts, and other team members to translate requirements into functional software.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of existing products and support AI‑assisted development initiatives.
• Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic about software development and eager to learn.
• Basic exposure to programming or an IT environment, preferably within healthcare.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, Agile team.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and curiosity about emerging technologies.

Required skills

• Fundamental programming knowledge (any language).
• Understanding of software development best practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
