Junior Software Developer Internship (Halifax)

About the role

CAE is seeking motivated students to join its software development team in Halifax for a four‑month internship (31 Aug 2026 – 18 Dec 2026). You will work on small to medium‑sized projects, gaining hands‑on experience across the full software engineering lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in requirements analysis, design, coding, and testing of software components.
• Develop and maintain code in VBA, C++, C#, Java or related languages.
• Document software designs, write test cases, and debug applications.
• Conduct research on analytics, development tools, and test automation.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a STEM bachelor’s program (Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics) in the 3rd or 4th year.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts in C, C++, C#, VBA, Java or SQL.
• Strong work ethic, ability to work in small teams, and interest in learning new technologies.
• Legal entitlement to work in Canada and ability to obtain Controlled Goods and Enhanced Reliability security clearance.
