Junior Software Engineer – Audio Recognition

About the role

Join Ipsos' CrossMedia Audience Measurement team as a Junior Software Engineer focused on audio recognition technology. You will work on enhancing algorithms that measure media consumption and advertising across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Explore and assess enhancements to the audio recognition platform.
• Diagnose real‑world limitations and devise work‑arounds.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, test, and deliver solutions that meet client requirements.
• Participate in regular design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
• Research emerging technologies and stay up‑to‑date with industry trends.

Required profile

• Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong interest in algorithms and a curiosity to understand systems from first principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and clear communication skills.
• Enthusiastic, proactive attitude with a “gets things done” mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language: C/C++, Matlab or Python.
• Familiarity with common signal‑processing techniques and real‑world audio processing issues.
• Experience writing deployable, maintainable software.
• Knowledge of issue/project tracking tools such as Jira.
