Junior Software Engineer

About the role

ITV is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer with at least two years of commercial experience to join the Content Supply Technology team on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on cloud infrastructure, serverless functions and CI/CD pipelines while also offering exposure to Scala‑based services.

Key responsibilities

• Write Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to provision AWS resources.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for continuous delivery.
• Replicate, adapt and deploy micro‑services and serverless components such as AWS Lambdas.
• Troubleshoot production issues using observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
• Work within existing Scala/JVM codebases to update and integrate services.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of commercial software or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with a logical, step‑by‑step problem‑solving approach.
• Ability to collaborate in an Agile team, pair program and communicate effectively.
