Junior Software Engineer – Payments Team

About the role

Avaloq is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join its Payments team in Edinburgh. You will work on end‑to‑end Payments and Cash Operations solutions, contributing to both customer‑specific SaaS configurations and core banking modules.

Key responsibilities

• Design innovative solutions for new developments in collaboration with technical leads and architects.
• Implement business functionality across software layers and ensure reliability through automated testing.
• Take ownership of assigned modules, maintaining and optimizing functionality.
• Collaborate closely with team members and cross‑functional colleagues to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Required profile

• University degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong rapport‑building and client‑focused attitude.
• Motivation to learn new skills and a genuine interest in banking.
