Junior Sous Chef – Banqueting (Luxury Hotel)

About the role

Join the award‑winning team at Grantley Hall, a five‑star historic hotel in North Yorkshire, as a Junior Sous Chef – Banqueting. You will support the Head Chef in delivering exceptional banquet experiences for our luxury guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing the kitchen brigade to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.
• Contribute to the development of creative banquet menus and maintain high food quality standards.
• Monitor kitchen cleanliness, stock control, and organization at all times.
• Place daily orders while considering stock usage, menu planning, and business levels.
• Provide feedback to the Head Chef on guest and team comments.
• Train and delegate tasks to junior team members and step in on other sections as needed.

Required profile

• A genuine passion for food and a willingness to learn.
• Good kitchen and knife skills.
• Thorough understanding of health, safety and food‑safety regulations.
• Ability to work to the high standards expected in a luxury establishment.
• Innovation, creativity and attention to detail.
• Experience supervising or guiding others.
