About the role

Join Hallmark Care Homes as a Junior Sous Chef and help create nutritious, flavorful meals for residents in a supportive, family‑run environment. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will use fresh, seasonal ingredients to deliver high‑quality dining experiences while enjoying a balanced work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Manage kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth service.
• Assist in developing and updating resident‑focused menus.
• Prepare dishes using fresh, seasonal produce, maintaining high culinary standards.
• Uphold HACCP food‑safety procedures and maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen.
• Engage with residents to understand dietary preferences and nutritional needs.

Required profile

• Warm, personable attitude with a genuine care for residents.
• City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ or equivalent culinary qualification.
• Good understanding of nutrition and seasonal ingredient use.
• Familiarity with HACCP food‑safety standards.
