Junior Wood Machinist

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Wood Machinist to join a busy machine shop within a high‑quality manufacturing environment. This hands‑on position is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision craftsmanship, understands material selection, and is eager to produce components of the highest structural and aesthetic quality.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate machined wood components to specification.
• Operate in a fast‑paced workshop to meet production targets.
• Select appropriate materials to achieve optimal finish and consistency.
• Identify and resolve design, material, and production challenges.
• Support and mentor less experienced team members or apprentices.
• Contribute to process improvements and workshop efficiency.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.

Required profile

• Experience in a wood‑machining, furniture making, or joinery workshop.
• Strong understanding of materials and machining techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and support others.
• Willingness to mentor or train apprentices.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

• Competitive salary £25,000‑£30,000 per annum.
