KDB Developer – Real-time Data & Analytics Engineer

About the role

Our Data Services KDB team builds the platforms that power Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets business. As a KDB Developer you will enhance and modernise a real‑time and historical data ecosystem that supports trading, risk, and quantitative research.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain KDB+/q applications for real‑time data ingestion, analytics engines and historical databases.
• Build and optimise large‑scale time‑series data pipelines and storage structures.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts, traders and business users to deliver data tools and analytics.
• Onboard and integrate real‑time and historical market data sources, implementing data quality checks and monitoring.
• Work with DevOps/SRE teams on reliable deployments, capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Drive modernisation efforts, including automation, cloud migration and AI‑driven capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing KDB+/q solutions in a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of real‑time market data flows and large‑scale time‑series data management.
• Ability to work closely with quants, traders and infrastructure teams.
