Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our junior school in Warrington. You will provide dedicated 1‑to‑1 support for Key Stage 2 pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence. This part‑time, fixed‑term position runs for one academic year starting in September 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 assistance to pupils with specific learning and additional needs.
• Support small groups of students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Provide pastoral care, including lunchtime supervision and general wellbeing support.
• Collaborate with class teachers to reinforce core literacy and numeracy skills.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and communicate updates to senior staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children, preferably those with special educational needs.
• Excellent communication skills for building relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
• Positive behaviour management approach that promotes a calm learning environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection policies.
• Willingness to engage in training to support vulnerable pupils effectively.
