Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Bacup)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join a high‑achieving primary school in Bacup from September 2026 until the end of the academic year. The role is full‑time, on‑site, and offers the chance to support pupils in a supportive, ambitious environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering the KS2 curriculum and classroom activities.
• Provide small‑group interventions to reinforce learning objectives.
• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs, adapting resources as required.
• Help manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with staff to plan and evaluate pupil progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience working within Key Stage 2 (essential).
• Confidence delivering and supporting small‑group interventions.
• Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
• Positive, flexible, and hardworking attitude.
• Excellent communication and behaviour‑management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative.

Required skills

• Experience in KS2 classroom support.
• Knowledge of SEN strategies.
• Small‑group teaching techniques.

• Hourly rate between £14.25 and £16 inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
