Kitchen Assistant – Bank Contract (Weston‑super‑Mare)

About the role

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant on a bank (zero‑hours) contract to join the kitchen team at Clarence Park Residential & Nursing Care Home in Weston‑super‑Mare. You will help prepare meals, maintain high standards of cleanliness and support safe food handling for residents with complex health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and cooking, ensuring meals meet individual dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, following food safety procedures.
• Support deliveries, store and organise stock, and keep kitchen areas tidy and safe.
• Work closely with the care team to deliver a positive dining experience for residents.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is desirable but not essential.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
• Reliable, hardworking and positive attitude with willingness to learn in a care setting.
