Kitchen Assistant – Highwood Care Home

About the role

Join the kitchen team at Highwood Care Home, a brand‑new luxury facility in Bideford. As a Kitchen Assistant you will help deliver high‑quality meals in a clean, safe and well‑organised environment, supporting the Chef and caring for up to 67 residents.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and cooking according to recipes and dietary requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
• Receive deliveries, store supplies safely and organise stock.
• Support the Chef in ensuring meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.
• Help with kitchen equipment upkeep and routine checks.

Required profile

• Positive, reliable attitude with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential.
