Kitchen & Chef Manager – Residential Care Home

About the role

Friends of the Elderly (Fote) is seeking a Kitchen & Chef Manager to lead the catering team at its vibrant residential care home in Calcot. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality meals while ensuring safety, hygiene and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the kitchen staff on a rolling rota of 3 days on/3 days off.
• Plan, cost and produce menus that meet nutritional standards and resident preferences within the agreed budget.
• Maintain food hygiene, health and safety standards in line with legislation and company policies.
• Oversee ordering of supplies using digital ordering systems and ensure accurate stock control.
• Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Relevant food handling qualification (e.g., Food Safety Level 2).
• Proven experience in a similar kitchen or catering management role.
• Strong numeracy skills for budgeting and inventory management.
• Commitment to learning and improving service quality.

Required skills

• Food safety and hygiene knowledge.
• Experience with digital ordering or inventory software.
