Kitchen Porter – Oxford (£15.47/hr)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Kitchen Porter to join our Oxford team. You will help keep the kitchen running smoothly by maintaining cleanliness, supporting chefs, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment using hand methods or industrial dishwashers.
• Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, food preparation areas and floors.
• Empty rubbish bins and manage waste disposal in line with hygiene policies.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping and slicing.
• Receive, unpack and organise deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory.
• Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any issues.

Required profile

• High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical stamina to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Basic education (high school diploma or equivalent) preferred but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Use of industrial dishwashing equipment.
• Basic food preparation techniques (peeling, chopping, slicing).
• Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene standards in a kitchen.
