Knitwear Designer (3-10 years experience)

About the role

Spring, a design and sourcing company operating across Turkey, Europe and Africa, is looking for a highly motivated Knitwear Designer in London. The role suits someone with a strong trend-driven eye, commercial instinct and creative energy, working in a fast-paced business with a dynamic team focused on innovative, commercial and trend-relevant designs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original, trend-led and commercially relevant designs aligned with customer and brand aesthetics.
• Research and select fabrics and materials, collaborating with suppliers to ensure quality.
• Conduct market research, store visits and online research to follow emerging trends, silhouettes, yarns, colours and accessories.
• Communicate regularly with customers to understand their needs and adjust design direction and work plans.
• Share design and pattern files accurately and on time for collection preparation.
• Work with design teams, product developers and manufacturers to bring designs to life and ensure quality production.
• Evaluate customer and managerial feedback to guide design direction and make adjustments.
• Prepare detailed design presentations and keep accurate records of design concepts and material specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design or a related field.
• Advanced English with strong communication skills.
• 3-10 years of experience in textile/fashion design, ideally with a strong focus on knitwear.
• Strong trend awareness and commercial understanding, with excellent creativity, problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Proactive, enthusiastic and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, CAD or similar tools.
• Experience using AI design platforms and creative technologies (e.g. Midjourney, NewArc, Gemini, Adobe Firefly) for trend research, print development, visualisation and speed-to-market innovation.
