KS1 Teaching Assistant

About the role
Academics is looking for a KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a well‑led primary school in Redbridge, London, starting September 2026. The role supports Year 1 and Year 2 teachers and runs on a full‑time, onsite basis until at least July 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers with classroom preparation and daily routines.
- Provide targeted support in reading, writing and maths for KS1 pupils.
- Foster positive behaviour, social and emotional development.
- Deliver small‑group interventions and, where needed, one‑to‑one support for children with additional needs.
- Support mild special educational needs (SEN) alongside class teachers.
Required profile
- 2:1 (or above) degree or Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare or Supporting Teaching & Learning.
- A*‑C (6‑9) in GCSE English and Maths.
- Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
- Passion, enthusiasm and an inclusive, caring nature.

What we offer
- Full‑time contract (Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm).
- Daily rate of £92‑£120 (£460‑£600 weekly).
- Long‑term fixed‑term contract until at least July 2027.
