About the role
We are seeking a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Wandsworth. The role starts in September and runs on a fixed‑term contract until July 2027, providing full‑time support within a KS1 classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted support to pupils in reading, literacy and maths, leading small groups as directed by the class teacher.
- Assist the teacher with lesson preparation, classroom activities and administrative duties.
- Cover break duties and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with specialist staff to reinforce the bilingual curriculum and extracurricular programmes.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant in a primary setting.
- Strong literacy and numeracy abilities with a solid understanding of phonics.
- Ability to work effectively with children of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Commitment to the school’s community‑focused ethos and bilingual approach.
