KS1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Liverpool)

About the role

We are seeking a resilient and compassionate KS1 Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a primary‑school pupil with behavioural and emotional needs. This full‑time, long‑term position is based in Liverpool and offers a daily rate of up to £110.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one assistance to a KS1 pupil during class lessons, playtime and outside the classroom.
• Support the teacher in implementing and monitoring individual education programmes.
• Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and learning engagement.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to maintain consistent routines and tailored interventions.
• Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour or similar needs.
• Calm, patient and proactive approach with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with teachers and support staff.
• Passion for making a difference in children’s lives.
