KS2 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Part‑time mornings

About the role

This part‑time, mornings‑only position supports a Key Stage 2 pupil in a primary school in Potters Bar. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver tailored learning and emotional support, helping the child thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 assistance to a KS2 pupil each school day.
• Encourage confidence, independence and active engagement in lessons.
• Support the child’s academic progress, emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SEND specialists to implement targeted interventions.
• Adapt support strategies to meet the pupil’s evolving needs.
• Build positive relationships with parents, staff and the wider school community.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting primary‑aged children, preferably at Key Stage 2.
• Comfortable working one‑to‑one with pupils who need additional learning or emotional support.
• Patient, caring and naturally nurturing demeanor.
• Ability to develop strong relationships with children, colleagues and families.
• Flexibility, proactivity and a genuine desire to make a lasting impact.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent school‑based experience.
