KS2 Lead Teacher – Progression to Assistant Headteacher

About the role
Reeson Education is supporting an outstanding primary school in Newham to recruit a KS2 Lead Teacher. The role starts in January 2027 and offers a clear pathway to become an Assistant Headteacher for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for Key Stage 2, mentoring colleagues and overseeing curriculum delivery.
- Deliver high‑quality, engaging teaching in Year 6 or another KS2 class as required.
- Lead preparation for end‑of‑key‑stage assessments and monitor pupil progress.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support whole‑school initiatives, assessment planning and CPD.
- Take on additional whole‑school responsibilities to develop teaching and learning across the school.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial KS2 experience, ideally including Year 6.
- Proven record of strong pupil outcomes and excellent classroom practice.
- Confident, inspiring leader who can support colleagues with clarity and empathy.
- Commitment to high expectations, continuous improvement and the school’s values‑driven ethos.
