KS2 SEN Learning Support Assistant – Year 4 (1:1)

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work one‑to‑one with a Year 4 pupil in a Brighton primary school. The role starts in September 2026 and runs term‑time only, providing dedicated support to help the child thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 learning support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs.
• Adapt classroom activities to promote independence and confidence.
• Support the child’s emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, parents and external professionals.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience working with primary‑aged children, preferably in a 1:1 or SEN setting.
• Calm, patient and caring approach.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to adapt support to the pupil’s unique needs.
• Proactive, positive attitude and a genuine passion for helping children overcome learning barriers.
