KS2 Teacher – Mixed Years 3‑6 Class (Somerset)

About the role

The school is a small rural primary with 28 pupils total. We are looking for a full‑time KS2 teacher to lead a mixed class of 14 children covering Years 3 to 6, starting in September. The role offers the chance to work closely with a supportive headteacher and a tight‑knit village community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess lessons for a mixed‑age KS2 class (Years 3‑6).
• Differentiate instruction to meet the varied abilities and SEND needs of the pupils.
• Maintain accurate records of marking, assessment and progress.
• Collaborate with the dedicated 1:1 teaching assistant, support staff and the headteacher.
• Contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos and community activities.

Required profile

• Several years of experience teaching KS2, preferably on UPS1 or above.
• Proven ability to manage mixed‑age classrooms and diverse learner needs.
• Strong behaviour management and organisational skills.
• Resilience and flexibility to handle the demands of a small school setting.
