KS2 Teaching Assistant – Full‑time (Islington)

About the role

The school in Islington is seeking a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join its vibrant primary team. This full‑time, on‑site position supports pupils aged 7‑11 in both academic and social development, with a focus on inclusive practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers across KS2 classrooms during lessons and independent work.
• Deliver targeted interventions in maths, literacy and phonics as needed.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD and speech‑language needs.
• Adapt learning activities to suit mixed‑ability groups.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and confidence.
• Help with classroom preparation, organisation and resource management.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to teaching staff.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a primary school setting.
• Proven ability to support KS2 pupils.
• Experience working with children who have SEND.
• Proactive, adaptable and confident in mixed‑ability environments.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.

Required skills

• Support for pupils with autism, ADHD and speech‑language difficulties.
• Ability to deliver interventions in maths, literacy and phonics.
