KS2 Teaching Assistant (Full‑time) – Twickenham

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a well‑established two‑form entry Church of England primary school in Twickenham. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, confidence and progress across Key Stage 2, helping them access the curriculum and develop independence.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils individually or in small groups to achieve their learning goals.
• Promote independence, confidence and engagement across KS2.
• Assist teachers in maintaining a positive, safe learning environment and managing behaviour.
• Prepare classrooms and resources for lessons to ensure smooth delivery.
• Observe pupil performance and share progress and concerns with teachers.
• Support pupils during assessment sessions as required.
• Accompany pupils on educational visits and contribute to enrichment activities.
• Use ICT and other resources to enhance learning experiences.
• Collaborate with teachers, colleagues and external professionals to provide consistent support.
• Follow school policies, including safeguarding, health & safety, behaviour management and child protection.

Required profile

• Desirable experience supporting children in a primary school setting.
• Understanding of strategies to support pupils’ learning and social development.
• Patient, enthusiastic and committed to inclusion and wellbeing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow guidance, take initiative and contribute to lesson planning.
• Reliable, professional and committed to safeguarding children.
