KS2 Teaching Assistant (SEMH) – Hemel Hempstead

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision school in Hemel Hempstead from 1 September 2026. You will work with small groups of 2‑8 pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education, helping them overcome learning and emotional barriers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to KS2 pupils.
• Implement behaviour management strategies and foster a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to tailor individual learning plans.
• Monitor pupil progress and report observations.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role in UK schools.
• Experience with KS2 pupils, preferably in SEN, SEMH or Alternative Provision settings.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain).
• Legal right to work in the UK and availability to start full‑time on 1 September 2026.
