KS2 Teaching Assistant (Year 5 and 6)

About the role

We are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support Year 5 and Year 6 pupils at a welcoming primary school in Haringey. The role starts on 1 September 2026 and runs for the full academic year (September 2026 – July 2027) on a full‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑class support for mixed‑ability Year 5 and Year 6 classes.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, well‑structured lessons.
• Manage behaviour to maintain a calm, focused learning environment.
• Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions to close learning gaps.
• Promote independence, confidence and a positive attitude to learning.
• Opportunity to cover breakfast and after‑school clubs for overtime.

Required profile

• Experience supporting pupils across KS2, preferably upper KS2 (Year 5/6).
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• Proactive, adaptable and team‑focused approach.
• Genuine passion for children’s learning and development.

• Daily rate of £100‑£108 (PAYE).
• Full‑time schedule, Monday‑Friday 08:30‑16:00.
