KS3 Maths & English Tutor for Year 9 Student

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate KS3 Tutor to provide one‑to‑one maths and English tuition for a Year 9 student in the BH16 area. The role combines academic support with mentoring to help the young person overcome anxiety, ADHD and autism‑related barriers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging KS3 maths and English lessons at the student’s home.
• Build a safe, trusting relationship using a trauma‑informed approach.
• Support the student in developing confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
• Gradually transition sessions to a school setting as the student becomes more comfortable.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in education, childcare or a related field.
• Experience supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN), particularly ADHD and ASD.
• Ability to plan and deliver KS3 maths and English sessions.
• Commitment to a patient, empathetic and supportive mentoring style.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KS3 maths curriculum.
• Knowledge of KS3 English curriculum.
