Laboratory Assistant – Temporary (2-3 months)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Laboratory Assistant to support daily operations in a fast‑moving laboratory based in Milton Keynes. The role is a fixed‑term contract for 2‑3 months, with the possibility of extension or permanent placement. Working hours are 08:00‑16:00, Monday‑Friday, fully onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Assist laboratory technicians with the storage and organization of samples.
• Prepare samples for testing and ensure accurate labeling.
• Dispose of chemical waste in accordance with safety regulations.
• Clean and arrange glassware and other laboratory equipment.
• Enter test results and other data into internal systems, supporting timely reporting.
• Follow all health, safety and quality protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• A‑levels or a degree in a scientific discipline is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
