Laboratory Research Associate

About the role

We are seeking a Laboratory Research Associate to join a leading pharma/sciences client in Cambridge. This onsite, fixed‑term position supports early‑stage programmes and target validation through the design, development and optimisation of cell‑based and biochemical assays.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise cell‑based and biochemical assays for early‑stage research projects.
• Maintain, calibrate and operate LCMS systems for sample analysis.
• Conduct literature reviews to stay current with scientific advances.
• Collect, analyse and interpret experimental data using appropriate data‑analysis tools.
• Prepare research reports, contribute to publications and present findings to the team.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience in a laboratory environment performing assay development.
• Proven track record supporting development projects and target validation.
• Degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry).
• Strong analytical abilities and clear written and verbal communication.
• Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
