Landscape Maintenance Operative

About the role

Join Poplar HARCA’s Estate Services team as a Landscape Maintenance Operative, delivering high‑quality horticultural care across communal parks and green spaces on our estates in London. You will work as part of a collaborative crew, ensuring that grass, shrub and flower beds are kept to the agreed standards while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain communal grass areas on a set schedule, achieving the required standard of cut and appearance.
• Care for shrub and horticultural beds, following prescribed planting and pruning plans.
• Operate and maintain a range of landscape machinery, including mowers, hedge trimmers and brush cutters.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf clearance and surface salting when directed.
• Report any health, safety or security concerns promptly to senior staff.
• Perform additional duties as required by the Estate Services Manager or Charge Hands.

Required profile

• Level 2 qualification in amenity/landscape horticulture or a related trade qualification (e.g., N.P.T.C.).
• Formal horticultural training from a recognised college (desirable).
• Current clean driving licence (desirable).
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays on a rota.
