Lead Business Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Business Development Manager to drive growth for Upergy’s portfolio of mobile and autonomous energy solutions. Reporting to the Sales Director and based at our Solihull site, you will spearhead new market opportunities and manage the full sales cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and convert inbound leads while aligning activities with long‑term business objectives.
• Design and execute lead‑generation campaigns in partnership with the marketing team.
• Maintain and optimise the sales pipeline, monitor KPIs and implement corrective action plans.
• Provide market intelligence on trends, products and competitors to inform client strategies.
• Lead, mentor and develop junior sales staff to improve performance.
• Negotiate complex contracts and partnerships, ensuring alignment with client needs and company goals.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality customer service.
• Produce regular commercial activity reports to track results and guide strategy.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development and strategic account management.
• Demonstrated leadership in coaching and developing sales teams.
• Strong ability to build relationships with senior external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with data‑driven decision‑making skills.
• Self‑starter capable of prioritising multiple tasks autonomously.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
