Lead Commercial Combustion Engineer

About the role

Our client, a specialist contractor based in London, is seeking a Lead Commercial Combustion Engineer to manage a portfolio of high‑value commercial gas sites within the M25. The role offers a balanced workload, the chance to lead technical teams and deliver high‑quality engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair commercial gas appliances and systems.
• Diagnose and resolve faults in combustion and mechanical plant.
• Work within plant rooms, energy centres and other commercial environments.
• Maintain and repair associated mechanical systems such as pipework, heat exchangers, pumps and valves.
• Provide technical leadership and support to junior engineers on site.
• Ensure all work complies with current regulations and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Maintain strong client relationships through high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• Valid commercial gas qualifications (e.g., CODNCO1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1 or TPCP1A).
• Proven experience servicing and repairing commercial gas systems.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of plant rooms, pipework, heat exchangers, pumps and valves.
• Experience working in commercial or energy‑centre environments.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Commercial gas system fault‑finding and diagnostics.
• Mechanical plant maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of relevant gas and safety regulations.
