Lead Developer – Enterprise SaaS (Stockport)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Developer to head the design, development and delivery of enterprise SaaS applications for a client in Stockport. The role blends technical leadership with people management, ensuring secure, scalable and high‑performing solutions that meet business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop onshore and offshore engineering teams.
• Own technical design, software delivery and platform evolution.
• Drive Agile delivery, CI/CD, automation and engineering best practices.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reliable and meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, infrastructure and QA teams to deliver roadmap priorities.
• Conduct code reviews, support architectural decisions and resolve complex technical challenges.
• Improve cloud infrastructure, monitoring, testing and deployment processes.
• Champion DevOps, automated testing and AI‑assisted development practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams (2‑3+ years of management).
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience mentoring engineers and building high‑performing teams.
