Lead DevOps Engineer – Cardiff (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a fast‑growing organisation in Cardiff. The role is hybrid, requiring two days on‑site each week, and offers the chance to shape the company’s DevOps strategy during a period of significant expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Manage infrastructure across on‑premise and Azure cloud environments.
• Drive containerisation initiatives with Docker and orchestrate workloads using Kubernetes.
• Support micro‑services architecture and ensure reliable, scalable deployments.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps best practices.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and modern software engineering architecture.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, Azure cloud services, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with non‑functional testing areas such as performance, scalability, security and reliability.
