Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing, product‑led technology company that is scaling rapidly across the UK and international markets. As Lead DevOps Engineer you will own the cloud infrastructure, platform reliability and automation strategy, shaping the technical direction of a modern SaaS product.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise a highly scalable AWS platform for SaaS workloads.
• Own and evolve the Kubernetes (EKS) orchestration strategy and container platform.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code best practices using Terraform.
• Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines across Jenkins and GitLab.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and observability with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Collaborate with software engineers to enhance deployment processes and developer experience.
• Support security, compliance and DevSecOps initiatives, including IAM and CloudWatch best practices.
• Automate operational processes to reduce manual infrastructure management.
• Participate in architectural discussions and long‑term platform strategy.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level DevOps/Platform engineers and champion a DevOps culture.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams.
• Comfort operating in a modern cloud‑native environment with autonomy to influence architecture and tooling.
