About the role
A growing online retailer is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer who will also act as Platform Engineering Manager. The role is split 50/50 between hands‑on engineering and leading a small DevOps team to modernise a decade‑old cloud platform.
Key responsibilities
- Modernise the existing AWS‑based platform and improve automation.
- Lead and mentor a small DevOps team, shaping processes and culture.
- Design, build and maintain Kubernetes workloads and related services.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure reliable production operations.
- Drive adoption of best‑practice DevOps practices across the organisation.
Required profile
- Recent experience stepping into a leadership role while remaining technically hands‑on.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset and passion for platform reliability.
- Ability to balance strategic direction with day‑to‑day engineering tasks.
