Lead Electrical Engineer – Fast‑paced Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to head a small engineering team in a high‑speed FMCG manufacturing plant. The role combines hands‑on maintenance work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring plant reliability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a team of engineers while remaining actively involved in maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on PLC‑controlled production and packaging equipment.
• Plan, execute and oversee reactive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Drive engineering performance, reduce downtime and support plant reliability initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to implement continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• Multi‑skilled engineering background with a strong electrical focus.
• Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG.
• Ability to fault‑find on PLC‑controlled machinery.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead a small engineering team and communicate effectively.
